Criminal Justice Ministry

In solidarity with faith groups throughout the state, Saint Patrick Cathedral will hold an evening vigil on each date when an execution is scheduled in Texas. The first such vigil will take place at 6:00 p.m. on
Thursday, July 16, 2009. All are invited. The other scheduled vigils at Saint Patrick’s will be on Thursday, July 23; Thursday, August 20; and Wednesday, September 16, 2009. In a setting of quiet reflection, prayers will be offered in remembrance of murder victims, in compassion for their family members, and on behalf of all victims of violence. All prisoners, including those on death row, as well as their families and the executioners will be prayed for.
