Registration for Formation Classes

Registration for Formation Classes will be done through the month of August, on Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Sundays, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Formation classes begin on Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Inscripciones para las Clases de Religi√≥n se lleva a cabo todo el mes de Agosto, los miercoles de las 4:30 pm a 7:30 pm y los domingos de 9:00 am a 1:00 pm. Las clases empiezan el 12 de Septiembre.

Confirmation Retreat

Please keep our second year Confirmation Candidates in your prayers. They will be making their retreat next weekend, April 16 – 18, 2010 at Holy Cross Retreat Center, in preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation, on Sunday May 2, 2010.

Please join us on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 5:15 p.m. in the Main Church as we pray with and for our Candidates preparing to send them off for a weekend of prayer, formation and fellowship.

It is important for the Parish Community to support our youth as they make their final preparations to become full members of our Church. Please join us and come support our Candidates.

2009 Marriage Preparation Guidelines

1. Three six session cycles will be offered:
‚Ä¢ 1st Cycle: January 11, 18, 25; February 1, 8, 15, 2009
‚Ä¢ 2nd Cycle: May 17, 24; June 7, 14, 21, 28, 2009
‚Ä¢ 3rd Cycle: September 13, 20, 27; October 4, 11, 18, 2009

2. Classes will be held on Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jesuit Hall.

3. Couples can choose the cycle they wish to attend.

4. Couples must complete one six session cycle.

5. Couples can register for the cycle of their choice at the OLMC office by the following deadlines:
‚Ä¢ 1st cycle: Wednesday, January 7, 2009
‚Ä¢ 2nd cycle: Wednesday, May 13, 2009
‚Ä¢ 3rd cycle: Wednesday, September 9, 2009

6. Couples will attend an orientation meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Jesuit Hall the Thursday before the first session:

‚Ä¢ 2nd cycle: Thursday, May 14, 2009
‚Ä¢ 3rd cycle: Thursday, September 10, 2009

7. Couples can begin their marriage preparation cycle no later than the second session if unforeseen circumstances occur.

8. Couples can purchase the required textbook, ‚ÄúFor Better and Forever Sponsor Couple Program‚Äù by Fr. Robert Ruhnke(one per person) at the OLMC bookstore, at the OLMC office at the orientation session or at the Diocesan Office (499 St. Matthews).

Criminal Justice Ministry

In solidarity with faith groups throughout the state, Saint Patrick Cathedral will hold an evening vigil on each date when an execution is scheduled in Texas. The first such vigil will take place at 6:00 p.m. on
Thursday, July 16, 2009. All are invited. The other scheduled vigils at Saint Patrick‚Äôs will be on Thursday, July 23; Thursday, August 20; and Wednesday, September 16, 2009. In a setting of quiet reflection, prayers will be offered in remembrance of murder victims, in compassion for their family members, and on behalf of all victims of violence. All prisoners, including those on death row, as well as their families and the executioners will be prayed for.

TEPEYAC Institute Summer Classes

Summer Institute Classes begin June 12 through the 27. The Junior High Youth Camp is scheduled for June 20, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. The Children‚Äôs Summer Camp is June 15 through the 18 from 10:00 am to 12 noon.
Music Ministry Workshop
When: June 15-26, 7:00 – 9:00pm
Where: St Pius X Parish
Cost $50 per person, $20 if parish sends 10 or more people. (Includes 10 classes)
Classes are for music directors, choir leaders, liturgical musicians and all interested in music ministry.

Adult Baptism Preparation / Preparaci√≥n para Adultos

Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish follows the Rite of Christian Initation of Adults for Baptismal Preparation for Adults as well as the Rite’s adaptations for teens and older children of “catechetical age.” The length of the process is determined by the needs of the individual seeking entrance into the community. Infant Baptisms / Bautismos para bebes

Formation for parents and godparents of infant Baptism is offered at Our Lady of Mount Carmel the 3rd weekend every month at the Parish Office. Parents, godparents gather with the adult catechists on Saturday 6:00 – 9:00pm and continue Sunday 9:00am – 12:00 Noon. Plan to attend prior to child‚Äôs birth.

Baptisms are celebrated in Main Church on the 1st Saturday at 9:00am in English except Lent & Easter. During Easter baptisms are celebrated during our Sunday Mass. There are NO BAPTISMS during Lent.

Formaci√≥n pre-bautismal se ofrece para los padres y padrinos en nuestra parroquia el tercer fin de semana cada mes en la Oficina Parroquial. Se juntan los catequistas adultos con los padres y padrinos el s√°bado de las 6:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. y se contin√∫an el domingo de las 9:00 a.m. a las 12 de mediod√≠a. Haz planes de asistir antes del parto del beb√© ‚Äì ¬°¬°No van a creer cuan mas f√°cil sea!!

Se celebran el bautismo por espa√±ol el 3er s√°bado del mes a las 9:00am en la iglesia principal con excepci√≥n de Cuaresma y Pascua. Durante Pascua se celebran durante las Misas Dominicales. NO HAY BAUTISMOS durante la Cuaresma.

Next Pre-Baptismal Classes are scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and Sunday, September 19, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. Next Baptism is September 4, 2010, at 9:00 am in English.

Las siguientes clases Pre-Bautismales son el Sábado, 18 de septiembre, de las 6:00 pm a las 9:00 pm y continúan el Domingo, 19 de septiembre, de las 9:00 am a las 12 de mediodía. El siguiente Bautizo es el 4 de septiembre a las 9:00 am en Ingles.
