4 children participated in the Rite of Acceptance as they start their journey from inquirers to catechumens. During the Rite of Acceptance, they officially become catechumens preparing for baptism. They are presented to the congregation at Mass and receive a cross from their sponsors.
The inquirers, their sponsors “and a group of the faithful” gathered outside the church. Fr. Miguel went and meet them and one by one the inquirers introduce themselves to the community.
As a sign of their new way of life, the inquirers are signed with the cross on the forehead, as well as all the senses, and their hands and feet. From this point forward, they are called “catechumens.”
