St. Ignatius of Loyola used to say that the worst sin was that of ingratitude. God save us from falling into that pit! My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude to you, this gracious community for inviting me back
to my home parish to celebrate the 25th anniversary of my ordination to the priesthood.
As someone said, “There was so much joy!” The procession, Eucharist, and reception which followed could not have been more reverent, joyful, and a living sign of our gratitude to God and the Blessed Mother on her feast day.
My thanks go out to all of you, Fathers Miguel and Don, along with the other Franciscan Friars, the parish staff, especially Mike Lara, for coordinating us, the Carmelitas, the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, all those who helped with the liturgy, Rosa Guerrero, our madrina who arranged for
the Mariachi Los Arrieros and the ballet folklorico Paso del Norte, and the many parish volunteers who cleaned, decorated, cooked, and made sure that my family and I felt “en casa”, which we certainly did! Muchas gracias!
You remain in my thoughts, prayers, and mass intentions. Que viva Cristo Rey! Que viva la Virgen del Carmen!
